The Band Program
The WA band program begins in the 6th grade and continues through the 12th grade, with classes at every performance level. Each year the band maintains an active schedule of performances ranging from church and community concerts to international concert tours. Past highlights include tours to Honduras, Mexico, and Costa Rica, as well as performances at Florida theme parks.
In addition to these performances, WA bands have appeared on the national TV program “The Coral Ridge Hour”, performed at Focus on the Family, and performed a worldwide radio broadcast on HCJB. WA bands have also performed for past Presidents and Vice President’s of the United States. The Westminster Academy band program maintains an active outreach to the community through their performances.
Mr. Jeff Carroll has been the director of the band program at Westminster Academy since 1980. Mr. Carroll holds a Bachelor of Music degree from The University of Miami in Music Education and Trumpet Performance and a Master of Arts in from Florida Atlantic University in Music Education and Conducting. Mr. Carroll is a member of the Music Educator's National Conference, Florida Music Educators Association, Florida Bandmasters Association and the International Trumpet Guild.

Band Courses
High School Concert Band
This is the highest level of our band program at Westminster Academy. This year long course is intended for students who have had at least three years of study. Students must meet a minimum proficiency level on their instrument. Eleventh and Twelfth grade students may elect to take this course for honors credit, which will require additional outside performances.
High School Jazz Band
This is a select group of students from our Concert Band program. This year long course is intended for students who have had at least three years of study. Students must meet a minimum proficiency level on their instrument and be enrolled in the High School Concert Band.
Middle School Beginning Band
This is the beginning of our band program at Westminster Academy. This one-year course is intended for students who have not had any previous study on a band instrument.
Middle School Concert Band
This is the second level of our band program at Westminster Academy. This year long course is intended for students who have had one to two years of study. Students must meet a minimum proficiency level on their instrument.
Middle School Honors Band
This is the highest level of our Middle School band program at Westminster Academy. This year long course is intended for students who have a high level of proficiency on their instrument. Students in this level will rehearse and perform with our High School Concert Band.
