Mr. Schwartz graduated from the New School of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1986, and a Master of Music degree from Yale University in 1988. For 14 years prior to accepting the call to teach at Westminster, Mr. Schwartz had performed with symphony orchestras from around the world including the Spoleto Opera Festival Orchestra which concertizes in Spoleto, Italy, the National Repertory Orchestra which played at the Arts Festival for the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Korea, and then toured Taiwan and Japan, the New World Symphony which played for France's Bicentennial celebration in 1989 and later toured South America in 1990, and the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra where he remained for eleven years until his appointment to teach at Westminster Academy. Mr. Schwartz has taught music both privately and as a consultant to the performing arts magnet schools of Broward County. In addition, he was an associate professor at Broward Community College where he taught the strings class for students seeking a music education degree. He currently teaches Westminster Academy's orchestra program, grades 4-12. Mr. Schwartz is married to his wife, Mary. Together they have two adopted children, Josiah (from Romania) and AnnaClaire (from China)
