Biblical Stewardship

Westminster Academy is committed to Biblical stewardship. For Christians, stewardship is the realization that everything we have in our lives—our time, our talents, our resources, and our families—are gracious gifts from God, and that He owns it all, not just a fraction or percentage. It is our responsibility to prayerfully manage all that we have been given by God in a way that pleases Him. This Biblical stewardship philosophy is discussed by well-known author, Ron Blue, in his book Generous Living—Finding Contentment through Giving.

"The amount of money you have has nothing to do with financial security or contentment. Neither can satisfaction be found in wise investments, careful budgets, or debt-free living. Instead, the secret to financial freedom and joy is directly linked to one thing: the willingness to be generous with what you have. That one ingredient and the ingredient that makes true freedom possible is generosity: the willingness to use your time, talents, and material to benefit others and impact eternity."

Ways to Support the Ministry of WA

Annual Fund

Provides unrestricted funds for the School which helps WA “fill the gap” between what it actually costs to educate each student and what is charged-this gap is $1,500 per student. WA relies on support from our school community to stand in the gap. If tuition was increased $1,500 per student, many families would not be able to provide a Christ-centered education for their children. All gifts to the Annual Fund are 100% tax deductible.

Capital Campaign

Includes gifts to the Summer Capital Campaign, making improvements to our facilities to better serve our school community.

Designated Gifts

Provides funds for a specific purpose, such as: fine arts, athletics, special projects, etc.

Endowments

Endowments support WA by perpetually providing income from a donor's donated asset. Endowments allow for only the earnings of a gift, not the principal. Endowments allow donors to have the security of knowing that their gift is still working for WA, continuing to provide a Christ-centered, biblically-based foundation for our students.

Financial Assistance

Gifts to WA’s financial assistance helps provide a Christian education to students who would not otherwise be able to afford one.

Foundation/Corporate Giving

Westminster Academy is very appreciative of financial support from foundations and corporations seeking to support students in their quest for a Christ-centered, biblically-based foundation.

Gifts-In-Kind

Gifts-in-kind are tangible gifts-office equipment, computers, etc., given for WA’s use.

Matching Gifts

Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Some provide matching funds to support employee volunteer hours. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift.

Planned Giving

Planned gifts allow you to make a commitment today that will help WA continue to fulfill its mission for generations to come.

There are many ways you can make a planned gift-through a will or life insurance policy or through charitable trusts, and other similar arrangements. Additionally, a planned gift can occur through an outright gift of a major asset-even a gift of cash.
